Be careful what you wish for as Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. Into the Woods JR. features all of your favorite characters – Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.
The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.
With unforgettable roles, minimal dancing and no chorus, Into the Woods JR. showcases a medium-sized ensemble of talented singers and actors. The sophisticated score has been adapted to make it more accessible to young performers.
Book by: James Lapine. Music and Lyrics by: Stephen Sondheim. Based on classic fairy tales.

All returning students receive $50 off second production tuition.
There is a $25 registration fee that will be instated for all registrations received after July 14th.
When do I need to register for the class? Please register as soon as you decide you are interested as to reserve a spot. If you change your mind before the first class email us and we will remove the registration.
What if I register for the production, but my student does not make the audition cuts? We ask that everyone registers so that we can receive contact information and a student interest count. We will not process any payment until the Cast list has been posted. Keep in mind that all of our shows have multiple casting possibilities so we will do our best to make sure all students have substantial responsibility onstage.
My student wants to be involved in this show, but does not want to be on stage. Is there any position to fill where they can still participate in the session? Yes, At I.C.E. we are very open to students creating their own opportunities. We are willing to work with students who may find a behind the scenes role more enjoyable (i.e. Assistant Directing, Stage Managing, etc). Just contact us with this info and we will work with you and your student to find a place that will challenge and fulfill their expectation for this session.
My student has never auditioned for a show before, is this audition process going to be difficult? This will be a very relaxed audition setting. We just want to meet the students and see their confidence and skill levels in a quick 15 min session. We will ask for them to sing ~30sec. segment of a song and to perform a short monologue OR tell us a story about any topic of their choosing.
What if we cannot make it to the audition times? If you are unable to make the auditions but are interested in doing the show, email us with a short 1 minute video that includes around 30 seconds of the actor singing a song and around 30 seconds of the actor telling a story or performing a monologue. All video submissions are due the day after auditions have ended.
If you have further questions, do not hesitate to ask.
