While receiving direct instruction, students will build and enhance character development, on-stage presence, and more. In this class, students will develop confidence, public speaking skills, team building and support, memorization skills, creative problem solving, empathy, and the ability to analyze text and characters.
Students will work on and learn a short 10-15 minute play in one week and be able to present on Friday! During this fast paced intensive, students will be learning acting, performing, and memorization skills!
ICE Collaborative Arts is offering a creative theatre class to Elementary Students. Using team-building exercises, the students will come together as a collective to devise a show with the structural elements of a professional show including a connective story-line, given circumstances, character development, dialogue, conflicts, and resolutions. Students will learn acting techniques and theatrical foundations while creating a show by using imaginative problem solving and artistic exploration. Students will also learn visual and technical elements as they design and create their show leading toward a final sharing of their work at the end of the session. This sharing will take place from 10:00am-10:30am on Friday.
In this five-day intensive, students will have the opportunity to learn and work on scenes, songs, and dance numbers.
We will be teaching students how to apply acting skills to musical numbers. By using acting through song and dancing for actors, students will gain confidence and knowledge for the next time they sing and dance on stage. Students will create a themed performance using scenes, monologues, dances, group songs, and solos. We will pick our materials based on an agreed upon theme . These themes could be togetherness, broadway, bullying, confidence, or any topic they are collectively interested in learning about and sharing. This is a great way for students to curate their own work while working with friends to improve their skills.
